Vadodara Division Successfully Conducts Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign at Pratap Nagar Railway Colony

The medical department of the Vadodara division of Western Railway recently successfully organized a pulse polio vaccination camp at Vidya Mandir, Pratap Nagar Railway Colony, as part of the national pulse polio campaign. The aim of this campaign was to provide oral polio vaccine (OPV) doses to all children under the age of five to protect them from polio.

According to a press release issued by Anubhav Saxena, the public relations officer of Vadodara division, railway officials, employees, and their families enthusiastically participated in the camp and administered polio doses to their children under five years of age. The health unit's doctors and paramedical staff not only vaccinated the children but also raised awareness among parents about polio eradication. During the campaign, parents were informed that although India is polio-free, the wild polio virus is still active in neighboring Pakistan.

Due to international travel, there remains a risk of its resurgence. Therefore, during each national pulse polio campaign, every child under five years of age must receive two drops of oral polio vaccine, even if they have been vaccinated previously, to ensure their immunity remains strong and the country stays polio-free. The medical department of Vadodara division is continuously committed to successfully conducting such public health campaigns for the better health and safe future of children.
