Vadodara: Preparations for Non-Interlocking Work Intensified, Signaling System to be Upgraded on June 30: DRM Raju Bhadke
The Vadodara division of Western Railway is progressing with yard remodeling work at Vadodara railway station to enhance operational capacity and provide better facilities to passengers. Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhadke inspected the yard along with officials and railway engineers and reviewed the progress of the work.
During the inspection, he instructed the officials to ensure that the rail operations are minimally affected during the work and that passengers face minimal inconvenience. During the review of the work's progress, senior divisional operational manager Mrs. Rini, senior divisional engineer Sumit Thakur, senior divisional electrical engineer (traction) Nalin Lochan Gupta, senior divisional signaling & telecommunication engineer Vipul Gupta, deputy chief signaling & telecommunication engineer Apurva Tiwari, divisional operational manager (general) Parvez Khan, senior divisional engineer Abhas, and other officials were present. Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhadke stated that in this important yard remodeling work, attention is being paid to quality and safety standards, as well as ensuring that all pre-non-interlocking works are completed on time.
The non-interlocking work will be carried out on June 30, and the signaling system at Vadodara station will be upgraded. Currently, work is underway to extend the length of platforms number 4 and 5 for passenger convenience. This will enable the operation of 22-coach trains on these platforms.
Currently, the length of platform number 4 is 498 meters, which will be increased to 592 meters. Similarly, the length of platform number 5 will be increased from 498 meters to 568 meters. For this, work is being done on the shifting of turnout, signals, and overhead wires.
Train operations on platforms number 5 and 6 have been suspended for this purpose. This yard remodeling and platform extension work will further strengthen the operational capacity of Vadodara station and will assist in providing better and more efficient rail services in accordance with future traffic requirements.
