Inauguration of Digital Access Board and Battery Operated Cart Service at Vadodara Railway Station by MP Dr. Hemang Joshi
In a significant step towards modernizing, making accessible, and inclusive passenger facilities, MP Dr. Hemang Joshi inaugurated the Digital Access Board and Battery Operated Cart service at Vadodara Railway Station today, as part of the Western Railway's Vadodara division initiatives. Senior officials from the division, including Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhadke, and other distinguished guests were present at the event.
Dr. Hemang Joshi mentioned that two new important facilities have been inaugurated for passengers at Vadodara Station today. The Digital Access Board is self-explanatory, providing information about all services and facilities at the station right at the entrance. The 'Saarthi' electric cart service for differently-abled individuals is the first of its kind in the country, launched today at Vadodara Station.
He thanked Raju Bhadke and his team for these two passenger-friendly initiatives. The MP also met with licensed assistants and assured them that their interests are paramount, promising to provide them with all possible help and facilities. Raju Bhadke addressed the media, stating that this is an important initiative towards modern station services.
Passengers arriving at the station will easily find out where the Railway Protection Force is located, where the ticket window is, and where the lift is, among other things. The electric cart is a significant facility; due to its small size, it can also go into the lift and assist senior citizens and differently-abled passengers in reaching their train. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Narendra Kumar mentioned that the Digital Access Board facility has been established under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at making passenger movement within the station premises simpler, more convenient, and stress-free.
The Digital Access Board installed at Vadodara Station will serve as a smart information center for passengers, providing clear and easy information about various facilities at the station, platforms, ticket counters, waiting areas, facilities for differently-abled individuals, parking, food stalls, security services, and other important locations. This board will be particularly useful for senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and first-time travelers. Mr. Kumar added that the modern battery-operated cart will not be limited to just platform number 1 but will provide connectivity to all platforms at the station, ensuring greater convenience and ease of movement for passengers.
This service will be available 24 hours a day and will assist in providing a comfortable journey for passengers. These modern and passenger-centric initiatives being adopted by the Vadodara division will not only enhance the passenger experience at the station but also reflect the railway's commitment to digital transformation and smart station development.
Additionally, such initiatives are expected to increase non-fare revenue for the railway. The Vadodara division of Western Railway will continue to strive to provide safe, modern, accessible, and world-class facilities to passengers in the future.
