Transfer of Mamta Hirpara, the officer who gave a new direction to development in Vadodara, to Ahmedabad
Mamta Hirpara, the District Development Officer (DDO) who has made remarkable contributions in the fields of rural development and women and child welfare in Vadodara district, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Municipal Commissioner at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. During her tenure, she provided a new direction to development works in the district, successfully establishing a significant identity at both administrative and social levels.
Appointed in Vadodara in 2023, Mrs. Hirpara served as DDO for over three years. During this time, she prioritized women and child safety, nutrition, and rural health services. She consistently monitored programs by visiting Anganwadi centers, health centers, and various gram panchayats.
Under her leadership, a target was set for the construction, renovation, and modernization of approximately 250 Anganwadi buildings in Vadodara district, with positive results now visible at the rural level. New steel utensils were provided to Anganwadi centers, and she played a significant role in the construction of new classrooms in primary schools. Mrs. Hirpara initiated the 'Krish se Krishna tak' project, focusing on the health and nutrition of malnourished children, successfully nourishing over two thousand children under this campaign.
She also continuously monitored arrangements for admitting malnourished children to Sanjeevani centers. Additionally, several development works progressed under her leadership, including new panchayat buildings for nearly 200 gram panchayats, Taluka Development Officer residences, and a new office for Vadodara Taluka Panchayat, many of which have been completed. Her efforts in the education and health sectors have also been noteworthy.
For the first time, an initiative was taken to honor meritorious students at the district panchayat, and the procurement of labor beds for primary health centers was ensured. The administration also succeeded in completing about 80 percent of the Finance Commission's tasks and generating an income of 45 crore rupees through tax collection from gram panchayats. In a conversation, Mrs. Mamta Hirpara mentioned her special attachment to Vadodara, stating that during her service in Vadodara, she had the opportunity to learn and understand many new things along with gaining administrative experience, which will remain invaluable memories of her life.
