Third Vande Bharat Train Launched Between Ahmedabad and Mumbai
New Saffron-Colored Train with 20 Coaches Begins Trial Run at 130 kmph
Ahmedabad- On Friday, Western Railways inaugurated the third Vande Bharat train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Unlike its predecessors, this new train sports a saffron color instead of the traditional white and is equipped with 20 coaches instead of the usual 16. The trial run began at 7 am from Ahmedabad's Kalupur railway station, with the train reaching a speed of 130 kilometers per hour—a first for the Vande Bharat series, which previously operated at 100 kilometers per hour.
The Vande Bharat trains, known for their semi-high-speed and luxurious features, have been well-received by passengers traveling between major cities in India. The first Vande Bharat train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 30, 2022, from Gandhinagar to Mumbai, and began its operations on October 1, 2022. Due to the overwhelming response and full booking of seats, a second Vande Bharat train was introduced on the same route.
With continuous positive feedback and high demand, Western Railways has now launched this third train, further enhancing connectivity between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The train departs from Ahmedabad's Kalupur railway station at 7 am and is expected to reach Mumbai Central by 12:15 pm, covering the journey in just over five hours. This third Vande Bharat train is set to become another popular choice for passengers, as it operates at its full speed of 130 kmph during its trial run.
