Threat Message Sent to Mumbai Police Helpline Targeting Actor Salman Khan, Case Registered
Mumbai, April 14, 2025 – Mumbai’s traffic police received a threatening message regarding Bollywood actor Salman Khan through their WhatsApp helpline, prompting the registration of a criminal case, as per agency report. Authorities confirmed on Monday that the sender of the message threatened to bomb the actor’s car and physically assault him at his residence.
According to a police official, the threatening message was received on Sunday. Upon being alerted, a traffic control room officer informed senior officials, leading to the registration of a case under Section 351(2)(3) of the Indian Penal Code, pertaining to criminal intimidation. Investigations into the origin and sender of the message are currently underway.
This incident is not the first time the 59-year-old actor has received such threats. The traffic police helpline has reportedly been receiving multiple threatening messages directed at Khan in recent days.
Previously, the actor was targeted by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Jail, faces several charges, including attempted murder and extortion. In April last year, suspected members of his gang opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence.
Subsequently, Navi Mumbai Police claimed to have uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to assassinate Khan while he was traveling to his farmhouse in Panvel. The latest threat has once again raised concerns about the actor’s safety and the ongoing risks posed by organized crime groups.
