CMAI FAB Show Begins in Mumbai; 45 Surat-Based Garment Manufacturers Participate Under SGCCI Pavilion

Mumbai witnessed the grand opening of the fifth edition of the FAB Show, organized by The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), from April 21 to 23, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The event has garnered strong support from the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), along with the governments of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Over 250 garment manufacturers from across India are showcasing their products at the event, with a dedicated SGCCI pavilion featuring 45 exhibitors from Surat.

The show was inaugurated by Maharashtra's Honourable Textile Minister Shri Sanjay Sawakare. The inauguration ceremony was attended by SGCCI President Shri Vijay Mewawala, President-Elect Shri Nikhil Madrasi, SGCCI Exhibition Chairman Shri Bijal Jariwala, Group Chairman Shri Kiran Thummar, CMAI President Shri Santosh Katariya, CMAI Chairman Shri Navin Sainani, CMAI South Gujarat Region Chairman Dr. Ajoy Bhattacharya, and Shri Mayur Golwala.

Speaking on the occasion, SGCCI President Shri Vijay Mewawala highlighted that the FAB Show serves as an ideal platform to bring buyers and sellers together. He noted that SGCCI has been given a dedicated 2,200 sq. ft. pavilion this year, reflecting its strong partnership with CMAI and commitment to promoting South Gujarat's textile and garment industry. The 45 participating exhibitors from Surat are presenting a diverse range of garments and fabrics, receiving excellent response and generating strong buyer inquiries, particularly in the garments and apparel sector.

CMAI Chairman Shri Navin Sainani shared statistical insights, revealing that the garment sector recorded a 10.03% growth in the 2024–25 period. Combined exports of garments and apparel from India reached USD 15.09 billion, with a remarkable 35% growth in exports between January and December 2024.

The FAB Show also saw a visit from Union Textile Secretary Smt. Rashmi Verma, representing the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Ministers and senior officials from the Chhattisgarh government are also scheduled to visit the show tomorrow.
