Tragedy Strikes Surat as Five-Storey Building Collapses

A tragic incident unfolded in Paligam, Sachin DM Nagar, Surat, on Saturday afternoon when a five-storey building suddenly collapsed, causing widespread concern and immediate rescue efforts.

Preliminary reports indicate that the building, constructed in 2017, housed six families at the time of the collapse. Witnesses reported women and children were inside the premises when the structure gave way.

Police and fire brigade teams swiftly responded to the scene, initiating relief and rescue operations. As of now, 15 individuals have been reported injured, with fears that others may still be trapped beneath the rubble. Rescue workers managed to extract one woman from the debris, who was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
