Surat : Textile Sector Sees Surge in Business Across India, Positive Signs for Related Industries

Across India, the textile sector, which provides the most employment after agriculture, is witnessing significant growth. This surge is positively impacting several interconnected industries such as weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, looms, embroidery, garments, chemicals, transport, tempo organizations, and labor unions. With the rise in the textile market, all these sectors, including the machinery industry, are seeing signs of increased business. Sachin GIDC-based Therm Heat Private Limited, a company that manufactures parts for dyeing and printing units, is also benefiting from this demand.

Kunwar Sanjay Singh, Director of Therm Heat Private Limited, stated in an interview with Loktej that last year, the textile sector faced a slowdown due to a lack of auspicious wedding dates. Furthermore, the MSME environment during February-March adversely impacted the business. However, the textile sector is now gradually recovering. Singh shared that their company produces various machines, including PCL-based rotary drum washer machines, wet reduction machines, long tube jet machines, PCL-based soft flow dyeing machines, jet dyeing machines, and automatic hydro extractor machines. These machines are supplied not only in Surat but also in areas like Thane, Bhiwandi, and Badlapur in Maharashtra, and Balotra in Rajasthan.

Singh explained that the machines manufactured at their facility are used exclusively in dyeing and printing units. Their skilled engineering team can produce a jet machine in about 10 days, while a drum washer machine takes approximately 25 days. Although the demand for machines has been slow recently, there are strong indications that demand will pick up soon. He mentioned that the upcoming wedding season is expected to drive higher demand for clothing, which in turn will boost machine sales.

When asked about the company's plans for expansion, Singh revealed that they currently focus on manufacturing machines for dyeing and printing units. However, in the coming months, they plan to launch jet looms machines designed specifically for the weaving industry. Omprakash, an employee originally from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, shared that he started working as a welder eight years ago but has since gained expertise in other areas such as fitting, working alongside skilled engineers.

With the upcoming wedding season and increasing textile demand, the outlook for the textile sector and related industries appears optimistic.
