Surat: Tree Plantation at NTPC Jhanor on World Environment Day, Commitment to Environmental Protection
The World Environment Day was celebrated at NTPC Jhanor-Gandhar project on June 5, 2026, with enthusiasm, awareness, and a commitment to environmental protection. The event was inaugurated by the Regional Executive Director (West-I) and CEO (UPL) E.
Satya Phani Kumar and the Chairperson of Sakhi Mahila Samiti, Mrs. E. Saroja, through tree plantation. On this occasion, senior officials, employees, and CISF personnel, including Project Head (Jhanor) Dinesh Kumar Singh Rautela, actively participated in planting saplings and conveyed the message of environmental protection.
During the event, E. Satya Phani Kumar administered an oath of environmental protection to the present officials, employees, and CISF personnel. In his address, he mentioned that gas-based projects are relatively cleaner and more environmentally friendly.
He emphasized that reducing carbon emissions to control pollution is the need of the hour, and NTPC is continuously working towards carbon reduction and promoting sustainable development. Project Head Dinesh Kumar Singh Rautela stated in his message that the Earth is not only the invaluable heritage of the current generation but also of future generations. It is our collective responsibility to keep it green, clean, and pollution-free, so that a safe and better environment can be provided for future generations.
Winners of various competitions held on the occasion of World Environment Day were also honored. The program concluded with a message of nature conservation, environmental awareness, and a commitment to a green and clean future.
