Surat: Discussion on Middle East Conflict, Emphasis on Finding Opportunities in New Global Markets

Surat. The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an important session on 'Conflict in the Middle East and Emerging Opportunities in Other Markets' to raise awareness among the industry about the changing global landscape.

The event took place on April 25, 2026, at the Samhati complex in Sarsana, with a large number of industrialists and business representatives in attendance. At the beginning of the program, the Chamber's Vice President Ashok Jirawala welcomed the guests and noted that the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are clearly impacting global trade. He emphasized the need for industries to understand this situation and seek new markets while updating their strategies.

On this occasion, Dr. Vandana Srivastava, President of the Albert Chamber of Commerce, analyzed the Middle East crisis and its impact on the global supply chain in her detailed address. She mentioned that new opportunities are rapidly emerging for Indian industries in regions such as Canada, Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia under the current circumstances.

She advised industrialists to focus on quality, innovation, and competitive pricing to strengthen their position in international markets. Additionally, she highlighted the need to explore global expansion possibilities through strategic partnerships and business alliances. Dr.

Srivastava referred to the 'China Plus One' strategy, stating that global companies are now looking towards India as an alternative to China. This presents a significant opportunity for the Indian manufacturing sector, which can be leveraged with the right policies and preparations. During the program, the Chamber's Group Chairman Sanjay Punjabi introduced the keynote speaker, while Devkishan Mangani, Chairman of the Global Connect Committee, moderated the session.

In the end, he expressed gratitude to all participants and concluded the program. This session is considered an important step towards better communication and collaboration between the industry and the government, which could help promote industry-friendly policies in the future.
