Surat City Home Guards Organize Grand ‘Ekta Walk’ on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary

Surat. To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of India’s unity and integrity, the Surat City Home Guards organized a grand “Ekta Walk” today. On this occasion, Home Guard officers and personnel took a solemn pledge to uphold the nation’s unity, integrity, and security.

As per agency report, Surat City Home Guards Commandant Dr. Praful Shiroya paid a heartfelt tribute to Sardar Patel, describing him as the architect of a united India and a true man of steel. He recalled Patel’s leadership in the Bardoli Satyagraha for the welfare of farmers and his historic role in uniting 565 princely states to lay the foundation of an integrated nation. Dr. Shiroya said that Sardar Patel’s farsightedness and unwavering commitment to national interest continue to inspire every Indian even today.

The event was attended by Surat City Staff Officer (Training) Mehul Modi, PRO Jigneshsingh Thakur, Staff Officer (Women) Dharmishtha Manakiya, A-Zone OC Sunil Maisuriya, B-Zone OC Vijay Rathod, C-Zone OC Girish Patel, D-Zone OC Jayanti Dave, and Sachin Unit OC Thomas Padhare. A total of 1,359 Home Guards from seven units participated in the event and took the oath of unity.

Throughout the march, patriotic slogans such as “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” “Akhanda Bharat Ka Aadhar, Sardar Hamare Shaan,” and “Lauh Irade, Adig Sankalp, Yehi Hain Sardar Patel” echoed in the air, filling the atmosphere with a sense of pride and national spirit. The event concluded with all participants paying homage to the Iron Man of India and reaffirming their commitment to follow his ideals of unity, courage, and service to the nation.
