In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug abuse, Surat police have arrested three individuals involved in a well-coordinated drug trafficking operation in the Lalgate area. The accused, identified as Moinuddin Saladin Ansari, Zafar, and Rashid, were using a bhajiya shop and a paan shop as fronts for their illegal activities.

The police revealed that Zafar had been sourcing MD drugs from Mumbai over the past month. Rashid was responsible for finding customers, while Jamal and Ansari verified these customers and supplied the drugs. The operation involved the use of codewords to communicate with buyers, ensuring secrecy in their transactions.

A large quantity of MD drugs, valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh in the international market, was recovered from the trio. The police have registered a case against them under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently underway to uncover more details about the drug network and its operations.
