India Pays Tribute: Government Declares State Mourning for Iranian President's Tragic Death

Delhi, 21 May (H.S): On Tuesday, May 21st, the government of India announced a one-day state mourning for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on Monday. The national flag will be flown at half-mast on all buildings where it is regularly flown as a mark of respect. There will also be no official entertainment during this period of mourning.

Along with President Raisi, the country's foreign minister and several other officials were also found dead in the crash. The home ministry spokesperson confirmed that President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amit-Abdollahian were among the victims of the tragic accident in Iran's northwest region. In honor of the departed dignitaries, the government has decided to observe one day's state mourning throughout India.

The one-day state mourning is a mark of respect and solidarity towards Iran during this time of grief, and it also highlights the strong relationship between India and Iran.
