Ahmedabad : The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has taken strict action against students involved in misconduct during the winter semester final examination. Two students, in a shocking display of behavior, threatened to kill the invigilator, used abusive language, and even offered a bribe. As a result, they have been debarred from appearing in the next three examinations, marking the highest level of punishment handed out in this instance.

Instances of students resorting to unethical practices to secure better grades are not uncommon in examinations. However, such behavior is taken seriously by educational institutions, including GTU, which has a committee in place to address such issues. When students are caught engaging in misconduct, they are summoned before the University's UFM (Unfair Means) Committee, which then determines the appropriate punishment after hearing their side of the story.

During the winter semester examination, the invigilator came across two answer sheets where instead of answering the questions, the students had written threats, abusive language, and even offered a bribe, complete with a phone number. Following the established procedure, both students were called before the committee and were subsequently debarred from appearing in the upcoming examinations.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the consequences of misconduct during examinations. While some students may engage in such behavior unintentionally, the penalties they face can have a significant impact on their academic and professional careers.
