Ahmedabad Police Foil Counterfeit Currency Scheme Inspired by Web Series

Ahmedabad police have arrested three individuals involved in a counterfeit currency operation inspired by a web series. The accused were printing fake notes in rented hotel rooms to avoid suspicion and evade law enforcement. The case highlights the growing trend of people resorting to shortcuts to earn money.

The accused, identified as Sanjay Mali, Jaideep Solanki, and Bharat Chavda, were arrested from room number 213 of Palav Hotel in Sardarnagar. Chavda, the mastermind behind the operation, had purchased a printer to print the counterfeit currency. The trio had also booked a room at Palav Hotel near Naroda, where they produced fake Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes using color prints.

Upon receiving a tip-off, Sardarnagar police arrested the three suspects and seized the fake notes, printer, paper for printing counterfeit currency, credit card, and a license from the hotel room. Chavda was responsible for making and circulating the fake notes in the market, while Mali handled the printer and paper materials. Solanki was in charge of transferring the counterfeit notes to different hotels.

Investigations are underway to determine the extent of the operation, which is believed to have started about 15 days ago, after the suspects watched a web series on counterfeiting. The police are also looking into where the fake notes were distributed. Chavda had previously faced a complaint for cheating Nicole. The Sardarnagar police have arrested the suspects and continue to investigate the case.
