Surat Municipal Corporation Administrative Building Construction in Full Swing, 11.4 Percent Work Completed

The construction of the prestigious administrative building of Surat Municipal Corporation is progressing rapidly. For the first time in any Municipal Corporation building, raft foundation work was done non-stop for 42 hours.

On Wednesday night at 12 o'clock, Mayor Dakhesh Mavani and other officials inspected the span filling work, which continued for 42 hours without stopping. So far, 11.4 percent of the entire project has been completed.

Mayor Mavani said that even during the rainy season, about 2 percent work has been done every month. It is estimated that Rs 200 crore has been spent on the project, which has been underway for the last 6 months. The target is to complete the basement work up to the 4th floor by April.

The building will have a basement up to 4 floors below the ground level, which will be used to park 1500 cars and 2900 two-wheelers. There will also be a 4-story underground parking facility for 4400 vehicles. The hall for general meetings will have seating arrangements for 200 people.

The administrative building is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1344 crore. One of the two 28-story buildings will also house other government offices.
