Surat: Grand Inauguration of Four Mega Events by SGCCI, Enthusiasm in Industry and Education Sectors
Surat. The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has launched four historic mega events at the Sarasana International Exhibition and Convention Center in Surat.
These include the Chemical-Pharma Expo, Smart Education Expo, Business Expo, and Surat Start-up Summit. Organized in collaboration with Torin Wealth Management, these events will run from May 22, 2026, for three days from 10 AM to 7 PM. A large number of representatives from the industry, education, and business sectors attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Chamber's president, Nikhil Madarasi, mentioned in his welcome speech that the organization, which started in 1940 with just 16 members, now has around 150 associations and over 14,500 members. He noted that the Chamber has set a new record this year by organizing 22 exhibitions. The president of Chemexil, Satish Wagh, who was present as the chief guest, announced the upcoming launch of Chemexil's high-tech office in Surat, stating that India's chemical and pharma industry is rapidly advancing on a global scale.
He mentioned that Chemexil has over 4,000 members across the country, with nearly 2,000 members from South Gujarat alone. He also stated that the central government is preparing a simple and comprehensive narcotics policy regarding drug exports, in which industrialists from Surat and South Gujarat will play a significant role. Emphasis on Integration of Industry and Education On the occasion of the inauguration of the Smart Education Expo, VNSGU Vice-Chancellor Kishore Singh Chavda stressed the need for better coordination between industry and education.
He stated that Surat's diamond, textile, pharma, and aviation sectors require youth with modern technical skills. Approximately 50,000 students graduate from the university each year, and if they are trained according to the needs of industries, they can make significant contributions to industrial development. Excellent Response on the First Day Special guest Jignesh Modhwani praised the Chamber for organizing four major events simultaneously.
Finally, the Chamber's Vice-President Ashok Jarivala expressed gratitude and hoped that the Chemical and Pharma Expo would be held on a larger scale in the future. Several industrialists and business representatives, including Himanshu Patel and Ketan Desai, were present on this occasion.
All four events received an excellent response from the industry and youth on the first day. Organizers expect a large number of visitors to participate in these mega events over the weekend.
