Vadodara Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Adulterated Food

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has taken a strong stand against adulteration of food items during the upcoming festivals of Rakshabandhan, Ganesh Utsav, Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali. The corporation has collected suspicious samples of food items from various areas of the city and sent them for testing.

Out of the samples tested, six were found to be adulterated and 24 were found to be substandard. Adulteration was found in chilli powder, jalebi and motichoor laddus. The corporation has said that it will take action against the traders who are found to be selling adulterated or substandard food items.

VMC Designated Officer and Additional Health Officer Dr. Mukesh Vaidya said that the corporation is committed to ensuring that the citizens of Vadodara get safe and wholesome food. He appealed to the citizens to be vigilant and report any suspected adulteration to the corporation.

The corporation has said that it will continue to conduct intensive inspections of food items during the festival season. It has also urged the traders to cooperate with the corporation in its efforts to ensure food safety.
