Flash Mob Organized for Tobacco Awareness in Vadodara
A flash mob was organized in Vadodara to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and the increasing use of new-age nicotine products among youth. This event was held on Saturday at Safran Tower in observance of World No Tobacco Day, celebrated on May 31.
The public awareness program was organized by Faith Foundation, aiming to alert people about the dangers of tobacco and the rising use of nicotine products among the youth. Approximately 50 volunteers from the organization and students from the Faculty of Law at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda participated enthusiastically. Through the flash mob and poster exhibition, participants effectively presented the anti-tobacco message.
Faith Foundation reported that over the past three months, this campaign reached 81 schools across eight municipal areas in Gujarat, where around 8,000 students were made aware of the harmful effects of tobacco. Senior officials from SOG and VMC, along with Faith Foundation President Anant Christian and Program Director Susan Samson, were also present at the event.
The organizers stated that tobacco is not just an addiction but a 'silent killer' that severely affects society and families. This campaign is part of the foundation's ongoing efforts towards building a healthy and tobacco-free society.
