The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized the 7th National HR Conclave on November 7, 2023, in Surat, India. The theme of the event was "The Future of Human Resources: A Business Perspective."
The conclave was inaugurated by Admiral R. Hari Kumar, the Chief of Naval Staff of the Indian Navy. He was joined by Prof. Bharat Bhaskar, Director of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, as the guest of honor.
In his opening remarks, SGCCI Vice President Vijay Mevawalla said that the chamber's goal is to provide benefits to as many entrepreneurs as possible. He also stressed the importance of human resources for businesses.
Admiral Kumar said that artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to have a significant impact on the workforce in the future. However, he also noted that AI cannot match the creativity of human resources.
Prof. Bhaskar discussed the impact of technology on the workforce. He said that businesses need to adapt to the changing needs of the workforce in order to remain competitive.
Maruti Suzuki India's Vice President for People Operations, Sourabh Pathak, gave a presentation on effective organization management. Adani Group's Group CHRO, Vikram Tandon, praised Surat for its cleanliness.
The event was moderated by Chirag Desai, Co-Chair of the SGCCI's HR and Training Committee.
The first panel discussion, moderated by Mrinalini Shukla, a senior corporate trainer and business growth strategist, focused on the future of human resources in India. The panelists were Dr. Sudip Jayaswal, Director of Sach Electro Make; Ishvar Dholakia, Founder and MD of Goldi Solar; and CA Nirav Jogani, Director of RSM-Lemon Consultants Group.
The second panel discussion, moderated by Himanshu Bhatt, President of the National HRD Network of South Gujarat, focused on the impact of technology on the workforce. The panelists were Dr. Rajiv Shah, Senior Manager-HR at Reliance Industries (Hazira Group); Santosh Rai, Joint GM-HR at Larsen & Toubro; and Dr. Parag Sanghani, Provost of PP Savani University.
The 7th National HR Conclave was a valuable opportunity for businesses and professionals to discuss the future of human resources. The event provided insights into the impact of technology and AI on the workforce, as well as best practices for managing human resources in a changing world.
