Flyover Bridges Being Defaced with Paan-Mawa and Gutkha Cartridges

Surat Municipal Corporation is Enhancing the Beauty of the City, but Some Surtis are Spoiling it!

SURAT, India - The Surat Municipal Corporation is undertaking a beautification project to enhance the city's appearance. This includes painting flyover bridges with vibrant colors. However, some Surat residents are spoiling the beauty of these bridges by spitting paan-mawa and gutkha cartridges on the walls.

The Municipal Corporation has been making efforts to beautify the city through various initiatives, including placing flower pots on the Parle Point flyover bridge and decorating the divider on the Udhna pasture flyover bridge with colorful hues instead of the standard zebra crossing markings. Additionally, eye-catching murals have been painted on the walls of the flyover bridge constructed at the Adajan Gujarat Gas Circle.

Despite these efforts, a section of the city's population is hindering the beautification efforts. Individuals are spitting paan-mawa and gutkha cartridges, and some are even throwing water guns from moving vehicles. These actions are defacing the newly painted flyover bridges and detracting from the city's overall appearance.

The Municipal Corporation appeals to Surat residents to refrain from spitting paan-mawa and gutkha cartridges on the walls of flyover bridges and other public spaces. These actions not only damage the city's aesthetics but also pose hygiene concerns. Residents are also urged to exercise caution while driving and avoid throwing water guns, as these actions could cause accidents.

Together, we can ensure that Surat remains a beautiful and clean city. Let us take pride in our city and contribute to its upkeep by respecting public property and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
