Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) have organized the 'Textile Awards' to provide a new direction to the textile industry and encourage entrepreneurs who excel in their work. Surat is considered a rapidly emerging center in the country's textile sector.
With the complete supply chain of the textile industry available here, the city contributes significantly to the economy and provides numerous employment opportunities. The chamber aims to inspire textile entrepreneurs to advance in areas such as quality management, innovation, and exports. Under this initiative, a total of nine categories will honor textile entrepreneurs.
These categories include Product Innovation, Outstanding Performance in Exports, Quality Management, HR Practices, Recycling, Excellence in Local Textile Machine Manufacturing, Emerging Textile Units of Surat, and Lifetime Achievement Awards in the Polyester, Viscose, and Textile Park sectors. A total of 54 entrepreneurs will be honored at the ceremony.
This event will take place on May 28, 2026, at Platinum Hall, Sarsana, with Neeraj Kumar Arya attending as the chief guest. According to the chamber, these awards aim to honor entrepreneurs excelling in the textile sector and provide new direction and inspiration to the industry.
