29-Year-Old Brain Dead Man Donates Organs, Saves 3 Lives in Surat
Tribal Youth's Family Shows Courage and Compassion Amidst Grief
Surat - On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, a 29-year-old brain dead man, Chirag Patel, donated his liver and both kidneys to three needy patients, saving their lives.
Patel, a resident of Bhoria village near Mahuva taluka of Surat district, met with an accident on October 16 while returning home on a bike. He was immediately taken to the nearest hospital in Anawal, then to Spandan Hospital in Chikhli for further treatment. When his condition became more serious, he was admitted to New Civil Hospital Surat, where he was declared brain dead on October 22.
Despite their grief, Patel's family, including his wife Pritiben and brother, showed readiness to donate his organs. Their courageous and compassionate decision gave three people a new lease on life.
The liver and both kidneys of brain dead Chirag Patel were donated to Ahmedabad. The successful efforts of the New Civil Hospital system resulted in the 47th organ donation in Surat.
