World's Largest Diamond Trading Hub, Surat Diamond Bourse to be Inaugurated on December 17

Surat - The world's largest diamond trading hub, the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17th. The SDB, located in the Khajod area of Surat, will be home to more than 4700 offices, making it the largest business hub in the world.

On the day of Dussehra, a total of 983 small and big businessmen with offices in the SDB formally installed the Kumbh Ghar in the presence of their families. This is a traditional ceremony to mark the beginning of a new business venture.

Surat Diamond Cooperative Society President Nagji Sakariya said that the construction of the SDB has put Surat city on the global map. "Surat city was only known for diamond polishing, but from now on, it will also be known for trading," he said.

Diamond pioneer Dinesh Navadiya said that the SDB was built at an estimated cost of Rs 3400 crore and is the largest diamond market in the world. The inauguration ceremony will be organized in a grand manner and will be attended by leading diamond traders and dignitaries from across the country.

The SDB will provide all the services required for diamond business, including valuation, weighing, certification, and boiling. It will also have facilities for stationery, tools and equipment, and office stationery.

The inauguration of the SDB is a major milestone for the diamond industry in Surat and is expected to boost trade and employment in the city.
