Surat : SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 Celebrates Foundation Day with Chamber to Chamber and Chamber to Member Programs

Surat : To celebrate its 84th Foundation Day, the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized a series of programs on Saturday, 21st October, 2023, as part of its New Ideas, New Direction, and New Journey initiative under the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 Project.

The day began with a "Chamber to Chamber" program, which brought together officials and representatives of chambers of commerce from India and abroad on one platform. While other officials of the Chamber of Commerce joined online, they all assured their full support to the Mission 84 project.

SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia announced that an online international platform will be launched under the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project on October 21, the 84th Foundation Day. The Mission 84 project has been launched by the Chamber of Commerce to strengthen India's economy and increase exports from the country. Under the Mission 84 project, 84,000 industrialists from India and 84,000 businessmen doing business in different countries of the world will be connected. In this way, 84 Chambers of Commerce of India and Chambers of Commerce of 84 countries will also join this online international platform.

Additionally, Consuls General of 84 countries serving India and Ambassadors representing India in 84 countries across the world will also be joining the platform to guide traders about the opportunities available in those countries and the laws and regulations governing them.

Vaghasia also apprised the other Chambers of Commerce of the meetings held with the Consuls General of various countries operating in India such as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ethiopia, UK, Guyana, Zambia, Poland, and Tanzania. He said that the Mission 84 project has been started so that all the businessmen cooperate with each other and move forward with the spirit of business development.

The "Chamber to Member" program was organized from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, where businessmen were given information about business-industry opportunities in their respective regional areas by various chambers of commerce. Industrialists were given information about the industries developed in different areas of the country and the production of various products.

Prashant Patel, Regional Secretary, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project will bring out the internal strength in various industries, which will directly benefit the development of trade and industry of the country. Just as industries like textiles, diamonds, chemicals, pharma, aqua culture, real estate etc. have developed in Surat, similarly different industries have developed in different regions of the country.

At the event, MoUs were signed with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mumbai-based India Business Group-Trade Council and Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of International Business under Mission 84.

SGCCI Vice President Vijay Mewawala expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the events. Honorary Minister Nikhil Madrasi moderated the interactive networking meeting. Mission 84 Project Coordinator Sanjay Punjabi presented the outline of the program. The then former Chairman Himanshu Bodawala, Group Chairman Bhavesh Taylor, and former Chairman Rohit Mehta and Amarnath Dora, and officials and representatives of various commerce and industry chambers of the country were present in the meeting.

The SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 is a ambitious project that aims to connect businesses from India and abroad to boost trade and economic growth. The online platform that will be launched on October 21 is a significant milestone in this project, and it is expected to provide businesses with access to new markets and opportunities.
