Surat to See Infrastructure Boom as Chief Minister Patel Inaugurates Rs 502.34 Crore Worth Projects

Surat, India: Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel is set to initiate a plethora of new projects worth Rs 502.34 crore ($67 million) for the thriving city of Surat. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for July 13, will oversee the commencement of various projects under the auspices of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), and the Road Construction Department.

The Urban Ring Development Corporation Limited (URDCL) will kick off a massive construction project around Surat city and a new bridge over the Tapi River, amounting to Rs 403 crore ($54 million). Simultaneously, SUDA will launch developmental activities worth Rs 33.08 crore ($4.4 million). The government will also unveil newly constructed B class buildings in government property at Ramnagar, Rander with an investment of Rs 20.13 crore ($2.7 million).

SMC is on track to initiate 13 innovative projects valued at Rs 46.10 crore ($6.2 million), including modern library furniture and interior, a new school, a children's park, a fire station with staff quarters, and a multipurpose community hall. In addition, SMC will establish a state-of-the-art Vehicle and Pressure Depot at Umarwada costing Rs 4.64 crores ($620,000).

Under the SUDA initiative, 13 public works valued at Rs 20.66 crore ($2.7 million) will be set in motion. These projects encompass road constructions and improvements in Bhanodara, Siddharthnagar, Navagam-Vav, and Olpad Saroli.

The Urban Ring Development Corporation Limited will inaugurate Ring Road and Tapi Bridge, constructed with a massive budget of Rs 403.03 crores ($54 million). The new road infrastructure will enhance connectivity across the city with a total road length of 12.944 km across several junctions.

All these projects symbolize a significant stride towards the rapid urbanization and infrastructural development of Surat. The official function will be held at the Sanjeevkumar Auditorium in Adajan under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
