SGCCI Pledges to Enhance Global Trade Connections in Meeting with Telangana Chamber Delegation

SURAT - The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) convened an interactive session on Thursday, 6 July 2023, with the Federation of Telangana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) at Samruddhi, Nanpura, Surat. The meeting, chaired by SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia, had an ambitious agenda focused on enhancing global trade relations.

Vaghasia announced the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84, an initiative aiming to foster trade connections with 84 countries worldwide. The plan involves uniting 84 Indian and international Chambers of Commerce on a single platform to facilitate dialogue with industrialists. The collaborative approach is expected to provide valuable insights into Telangana's industrial policy and unlock investment opportunities in various sectors.

"In addition to bringing together Consul Generals from 84 countries based in India, we're striving to engage over 84,000 young, talented entrepreneurs from Gujarat and beyond, as well as Indian youth entrepreneurs living in 84 different countries worldwide," said Vaghasia. He expressed hopes of adding 1,000 new members to the chamber and generating an income of Rs 5 crore within the year.

The meeting with FTCCI is the first step in this new mission, which Vaghasia believes will spur idea exchanges and collaborations between the chambers, especially regarding their shared presentations before the Central Government.

FTCCI President Anil Agarwal shared his perspective on the shared objectives of the chambers of commerce across the country. He highlighted the efforts of the FTCCI in areas such as environment and taxation, recent ventures into exhibitions, and the establishment of a dedicated skill development center.

Agarwal further drew attention to Hyderabad's status as the country's tea hub and the thriving pharma and information technology sectors. He also mentioned significant investments made in the Textile Park and the city's prominence in food processing, agriculture, and cotton and rice production.

As the meeting concluded, SGCCI Vice President Vijay Mewawala expressed gratitude to all participants, which included past SGCCI presidents and the current FTCCI delegation. Looking ahead, the SGCCI is eager to make its mark on the global stage, guided by the ambitious Global Connect Mission 84.
