Over 60,000 Candidates Set to Take TAT Main Exam across Gujarat
Stringent Security Measures Ensured at Exam Centers in Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara
SURAT – The Teacher Aptitude Test (TAT) main examination witnessed the participation of 60,567 candidates from across Gujarat today, including 10,326 from Surat. The exam, a significant milestone in their journey to become teachers for classes 9 and 10 in secondary schools, was conducted at 222 examination centers spread across key cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara.
The exam, divided into two papers of 100 marks each, kicked off with the first general paper from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Following a break, the candidates then sat for the second question paper related to their chosen subject, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Out of the total aspirants, the majority were from the Gujarati medium, totaling 59,553, while English medium candidates amounted to 792 and Hindi medium candidates were 222. The distribution of candidates across the various cities was as follows: 13,300 in Ahmedabad City, 10,160 in Ahmedabad Rural, 15,957 in Rajkot, 10,754 in Vadodara, and 10,326 in Surat.
In a bid to maintain integrity and prevent misconduct during the examination, the state government established stringent security measures across all examination centers. Police presence was ramped up at the venues, with only the examinees allowed to enter the school premises. All accompanying individuals were required to exit the premises to ensure a distraction-free environment for the candidates. In addition, the exam process was constantly monitored by CCTV cameras.
The results of the TAT main exam will play a crucial role in the selection of candidates for teacher positions, with merit being the primary criterion for selection. This comprehensive and rigorous examination process underscores the state's commitment to maintaining high standards in the education sector.
