Mumbai, June 28. Actor Akshay Kumar revealed in an interview that he suggested adding the dialogue 'Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood' in the film 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
This dialogue is spoken by actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the sequel. When asked if a big actor like him playing a Bhojpuri star and performing on a Bhojpuri song improves the image of an industry often accused of objectifying women, Akshay Kumar explained that he was the one who suggested including the dialogue 'Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood' in 'Welcome to the Jungle'. The 'Housefull' actor stated that in his view, Bhojpuri cinema is at a high level, and it was an honor for him to play the role of a Bhojpuri actor.
The popular franchise's third installment 'Welcome to the Jungle' features Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Aftab Shivdasani, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Daler Mehndi, Farida Jalal, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Kiran Kumar, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Vindu Dara Singh, Nawab Shah, Urvashi Rautela, Puneet Issar, Arjun Firoz Khan, the late Pankaj Dheer, Sudesh Berry, Hemant Pandey, Zakir Hussain, and Sayaji Shinde among others in significant roles. The first film of this franchise, 'Welcome', was released in 2007, followed by its sequel 'Welcome Back' in 2015.
