Surat: Successful conclusion of Swachhta Pakhwada-2026 at NTPC Jhanor, message of cleanliness and environmental protection

The Swachhta Pakhwada held at NTPC Jhanor from May 16 to May 31, 2026, concluded successfully in an enthusiastic atmosphere. The 15-day campaign was inaugurated by Project Head Dinesh Kumar Singh Rautela, who administered a cleanliness oath to employees and contract workers.

Various programs were organized during the Pakhwada to raise awareness about cleanliness in the NTPC Jhanor campus and surrounding villages. A walkathon was organized for employees and their families, along with essay competitions on the topics of 'Clean, Green, and Healthy India' and 'Impact of Plastic Use on Health'. Awareness sessions on 'Wealth from Waste: Sustainable and Useful Management of Industrial and Household Waste' were also conducted.

These sessions provided detailed information on waste management, resource reuse, and the importance of environmental protection. During the Swachhta Pakhwada, street plays based on cleanliness were performed for employees and contract workers in the project campus, for girls of GEM-2026 at Bal Bharati Public School (Jhanor), and for villagers in Angareshwar village. Through these programs, the message of cleanliness, environmental protection, and social awareness was effectively conveyed.

The participants of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM)-2026 also actively participated in the campaign. They spread the message of cleanliness to the public through morning rallies and inspired people to adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle through drawing and slogan competitions. The closing ceremony reiterated the commitment to cleanliness, environmental protection, and a green future.

On this occasion, a cleanliness oath-taking program was organized, and plants were distributed to employees. Project Head Dinesh Kumar Singh Rautela administered the cleanliness oath to senior officials and called upon everyone to actively contribute to environmental protection and increasing greenery.

He stated that cleanliness is not just a campaign but a social responsibility. This event proved to be an important initiative in enhancing collective awareness towards cleanliness and strengthening the resolve for a clean India.
