Surat: 180 People Benefit from Free Eye Check-up Camp
A free eye check-up camp was organized on Sunday, May 10, at the Din Sahayak Vidya Mandir in Vesu, operated by the Hindu Sanatan Seva Public Charitable Trust. The camp, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Eye Hospital, provided examinations and consultations for eye-related diseases.
The head of the organization, Girija Shankar Upadhyay, mentioned that understanding the pain of individuals suffering from blindness or weak vision in today's time, the organization made this small effort to provide better eye care facilities to those in need. Approximately 180 needy individuals benefited from the eye camp. During the examinations, cataract was identified in 120 individuals.
The organization announced that all these patients would receive cataract surgery completely free of charge. Additionally, many people were provided with free glasses. The expert staff from the Swami Vivekananda Eye Hospital, including Shashi Barude, Honey Rana, Vidhi Chaudhary, Kinjal Chaudhary, and the committee members, examined the patients and provided them with appropriate consultations and services.
Several social workers, including Saroj Dubey, Neeraj Shukla, Lalta Prasad Upadhyay, Suresh Mishra, Udaybhan Vishwakarma, Deepak Upadhyay, Daksha Wagh, Sudha Pal, Om Dubey, and Sanjay Mishra, actively contributed to the success of the program. On this occasion, Girija Shankar Upadhyay stated that serving humanity is the best form of service, and in the current times, serving humanity is considered the highest work, and the organization will continue its social service activities with this objective.
