Three Arrested for Cheating Father of MBBS Aspirant in Surat

Surat City Police has busted an inter-state scam that duped parents in the name of securing admission for their children in MBBS colleges. The scam was unearthed after the father of an MBBS aspirant lodged a complaint with Dindoli police in Surat. The complainant, who happens to be a school principal, alleged that fraudsters cheated him of Rs 26 lakh in the name of securing admission for his son in KGMU Government MBBS College, Lucknow through Central Pulling Quota.

The police investigation led to the arrest of three accused, including the mastermind of the scam, in Noida, Delhi. The accused have been identified as Rahul alias Rishabh Tiwari, Mohd Saladin alias Kartik Khan and Shoaib alias Abhishek Singh Rosie. They were arrested with Rs 1.5 lakh in cash. The accused had cheated several students by creating fake college admit cards.

The accused were highly educated and tech-savvy, and the mastermind had not used his personal mobile even in his office for four months, as he was aware of the technical surveillance. The police have recovered several incriminating documents, including fake admit cards, from the accused. The accused have been charged with cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy, and further investigation is underway to identify other people involved in the scam.
