52 teachers honoured at Rotary Surat Riverside Outstanding Teacher Award ceremony

Surat – The Rotary Surat Riverside Outstanding Teacher Award ceremony, held at Sarosh Bhakka Rotary Hall, celebrated the remarkable contributions of 52 teachers from various schools across the city. The event was filled with gratitude and emotion as educators were recognized for their exceptional role in shaping the lives of students.

Club President Gautam Rawal said the initiative was a humble effort to honour teachers who have made a unique impact on education and student development. District Literacy Chair Sharmila Jain shared insights into Rotary International’s TEACH initiative, explaining its four pillars aimed at empowering education. These include e-learning through multilingual software for all classes, adult literacy programs offering structured four-month education, child development efforts to reduce dropout rates, and the Happy Schools program that creates joyful and safe learning environments.

Rotary Surat Riverside Literacy Chair Dr. Prashant Karia highlighted the multidimensional role of teachers by presenting TEACHER as an acronym, describing them as innovative thinkers, empathetic guides, adaptable changemakers, communicators of knowledge, boundlessly energetic, inspirational role models, and shapers of lives. He emphasized that teachers are not just guides but true architects of the future, without whom society remains incomplete.

One of the award recipients became emotional, describing the recognition as more precious than jewels and a true acknowledgement of lifelong dedication and hard work.

The ceremony underlined that while knowledge lights the path to the future, it is always teachers who serve as the guiding lamp. Rotary Surat Riverside reiterated its commitment to upholding the dignity of teachers and saluting their invaluable role in society.
