Surat – The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized a curtain raiser ceremony for the Surat International Auto Expo 2026 on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Avadh Utopia. The event marked the formal launch of the upcoming auto expo, which will be held from March 13 to 16, 2026, with participation from more than 100 exhibitors from India and abroad.
Chamber President Nikhil Madrasi stated that the expo will serve as a milestone for South Gujarat, creating new opportunities not only for the automobile sector but also for trade, manufacturing, and services. He emphasized that the event is a significant step toward positioning Surat as a global auto hub.
Vice President Ashok Jirawala highlighted that every expo organized by SGCCI opens new avenues for industries, adding that Auto Expo 2026 will play a vital role in boosting the city and region’s economic growth. Expo Chairman Mehul Desai informed that leading international automobile companies will showcase their latest models, electric vehicles, hybrid technologies, and auto components during the event. A preview of the expo was also presented on this occasion.
Co-Chairmen Kanubhai Modi and Pradyumansinh Jadeja underlined that this will be the second-largest auto expo in India, offering MSMEs and startups a valuable platform to display their products and innovations. The event aims to benefit not only the industry but also consumers directly.
During the ceremony, exhibitors who have participated in every edition of the expo since 2011 were felicitated. The program was conducted by Honorary Secretary Bijal Jariwala, with the presence of Honorary Treasurer CA Mitesh Modi, Exhibitions Chairman Kiran Thummar, Group Chairman Rakesh Jain, former President Ramesh Vaghasia, and several leading entrepreneurs from the automobile sector.
The curtain raiser also provided detailed insights into the theme, dates, and format of the upcoming exhibition, setting the stage for one of India’s most significant automobile industry events.
