Seminar on Smart Manufacturing Solutions for MSMEs Organized by SGCCI in Surat

Surat, July 19 – The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) hosted an insightful seminar focused on "Smart Manufacturing Solutions for MSMEs," emphasizing the role of digital transformation in strengthening small and medium enterprises. The event featured a keynote session by Siddharth Kamat, Senior Associate of MSME Industry Engagement, who elaborated on the critical importance and benefits of adopting digital technologies in manufacturing.

SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi inaugurated the seminar by highlighting that MSMEs form the backbone of the Indian economy. He stated that embracing digitization and manufacturing innovations is not only vital for staying competitive but also for scaling business operations to the next level.

As per report, Siddharth Kamat, in his address, explained that SMEs currently face numerous challenges such as limited workforce productivity, poor data management, low operational efficiency, and lack of technological awareness. The solution to these issues lies in adopting smart manufacturing practices, beginning with transitioning from paper-based systems to digital data management.

He explained that digital transformation includes tools such as supply chain management systems, machine monitoring technologies, computer vision for inspection, and video analytics. These solutions help improve production quality and operational efficiency. Through examples of successful case studies and government support schemes, Kamat illustrated how digital tools can significantly enhance business outcomes for MSMEs.

During the seminar, SGCCI’s Honorary Treasurer, CA Mitesh Modi, also addressed the audience with a keynote message. Bashir Mansuri, Chairman of the MSME Committee, presented the seminar’s structure and introduced the speakers. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where participants received satisfactory answers to their queries.

The seminar was conducted by CA Manish Bajrang, Chairman of SGCCI's MSME Committee, who expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers before formally concluding the event.
