Surat Hosts 'Women Entrepreneur Exhibition 2025' to Promote Female Business Empowerment

In a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs and expanding their business horizons, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Centre have jointly organized the ‘Women Entrepreneur Exhibition 2025’. The event is being held from May 24 to 26 at the Shri Surati Modhvanik Samaj Wadi in Adajan, Surat.

As per agency report, the exhibition was formally inaugurated on Saturday, May 24, at 2:00 PM, with Surat Municipal Corporation’s Assistant Commissioner Gayatribehn Jariwala gracing the occasion as the chief guest. She commended the initiative for its focus on strengthening women’s roles in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Chamber President Vijay Mewawala highlighted that the primary aim of the exhibition is to provide women entrepreneurs with enhanced business opportunities and marketing platforms. A total of 54 women entrepreneurs are showcasing their products and services during the three-day event.

Addressing the gathering, Assistant Commissioner Jariwala suggested that given Surat's robust textile, diamond, and jewellery industries, the city has the potential to be promoted on the lines of global shopping festivals like Dubai. She emphasized the importance of transforming Surat into a shopping hub and ensuring women entrepreneurs have platforms to sell their goods. She also underlined the city's infrastructural readiness to support such a transformation.

Jariwala further noted that Surat has been ranked among India's top four cities for economic growth and that the government is committed to the city's continued development. She encouraged local producers to consider trademarking their products to establish distinct brand identities for items made in Surat.

The exhibition features a wide range of products crafted by women entrepreneurs, including health and consumer durables, readymade garments, fashion accessories, fitness equipment, skincare and wellness products, household items, dress materials, traditional clothing, saris, jewellery, home décor, designer lounges, and food and beverage items.

The Chamber has urged city residents to attend the exhibition and support local women entrepreneurs.

Among the dignitaries present at the opening ceremony were newly elected Chamber President Nikhil Madrasi, Vice President Ashok Jirawala, former President Ramesh Vaghasia, Honorary Secretary Nirav Mandalewala, and Honorary Treasurer Mrinal Shukla. The welcome address was delivered by Chamber Exhibition Chairperson Bijal Jariwala.

Women’s Wing Chairperson Geetaben Vaghasia delivered the keynote speech, while Vice Chairperson Alpaben Madrasi introduced the chief guest. Vice President Mayuriben Mewawala expressed gratitude to the attendees. Former Chairperson Manishaben Bodawala provided insights into the exhibition, and Roshniben Tailor of the Women’s Wing anchored the event.

The exhibition not only showcases local talent but also stands as a testament to Surat’s evolving entrepreneurial spirit and its commitment to women-led development.
