13 Trainees Receive Certificates at Powerloom Service Centre’s Short-Term Training Program in Surat
Surat, April 11, 2025 – The Powerloom Service Centre (PSC), Surat, successfully concluded its short-term training program on shuttleless weaving on Friday. A total of 13 candidates who completed the course were awarded certificates in a ceremony held in Surat. The event was graced by Vinubhai Mordia, MLA from Katargam, who attended as the chief guest.
At the beginning of the program, Nilay H. Pandya, Assistant Director and Officer-in-Charge of PSC-Surat, welcomed the dignitaries and provided an overview of the various services and initiatives offered by the centre. He explained that the training program is part of schemes operated under the Office of the Textile Commissioner, with the aim of enhancing technical skills in the powerloom sector.
In his address, Vinubhai Mordia praised the services of PSC and emphasized that technical training not only empowers youth with self-reliance but also strengthens industrial capabilities. He extended his best wishes to all participants for their future endeavors.
Bhupendrabhai Chawla, President of the Ved Road Art Silk Cooperative Federation (VASCOF), Surat, was present as a special guest. He shared insights into the activities of his organization and encouraged young entrepreneurs and workers in the industry to reach out freely for any assistance. He expressed gratitude for the invitation and commended the trainees for their dedication.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nilay H. Pandya. The newly certified trainees expressed their appreciation for the opportunity and stated their intent to apply the knowledge gained through the training in their respective work fields.
