Surat to Celebrate 20th Shri Hanuman Janmotsav with Grandeur on April 11-12
Surat is set to witness a vibrant and devotional celebration as the Shri Salasar Hanuman Seva Samiti organizes the 20th Shri Hanuman Janmotsav on April 11 and 12, 2025. The two-day spiritual festival will be held with great reverence at Shri Salasar Balaji Temple in Jalvant Township and is expected to draw a massive gathering of devotees from across the city.
As per agency report, committee president Tikam Asawa announced that a donation of Rs. 1.5 lakh will be made to Shri Pathmeda Gaudham Mahatirth, one of India's largest cow shelters. Secretary Mangal Vaishnav shared that the festivities will commence on the morning of April 11 with the recitation of Sundarkand by members of the Salasar Mahila Sangathan. In the evening, a divine Akhand Jyot will be lit and a ceremonial offering of Chhappan Bhog will mark the spiritual Darbar.
The celebrations will reach their peak on April 12, starting at 7:15 AM with a grand Nishan Shobhayatra from Sai Dham Palace. This religious procession will pass through Radha Krishna Temple and culminate at the Salasar Balaji Temple. Accompanied by bullock carts, traditional music bands, and decorative tableaux, the event is expected to attract 1000 to 1500 participants dressed in themed attire, offering a glimpse of Sanatan cultural heritage.
Later that day, at 11 AM, a ceremonial 'Sawamani Bhog' will be offered to Balaji followed by a grand Maha Aarti and Mahaprasad distribution at 7:15 PM, where thousands of devotees are expected to participate.
Vinod Rathi, one of the key patrons of the event, emphasized the spiritual and cultural significance of the Shobhayatra, which brings together men, women, and children in a collective expression of devotion. To ensure smooth execution, Ramvilas Bhattad and Santosh Sharma have been appointed as main conveners, with youth and women’s teams led by Ratan Prajapat, Ravi Baheti, Suman Asawa, Ranu Vaishnav, Rekha Chauhan, and Manisha Baldeva.
Vice President Ramanuj Asawa estimated a footfall of 15,000 to 20,000 devotees over the two days. More than 200 volunteers from the Samiti and its affiliated groups are actively preparing for the event, with citywide promotional activities currently in full swing.
Dedicated volunteers including Loonkaran Rathi, Dinesh Suthar, Pawan Gandhi, Ajay Maru, Rajkumar Tela, Ramlal Prajapat, and youth leaders like Vasu Asawa, Raju Asawa, Ramesh Toshniwal, Akhilesh Sharma, Rupesh Lahoti, and Vinod L. Rathi are all working diligently to make the celebration a grand success.
Under the guidance of Managing Trustee Jaysukhbhai Hirpara, every detail of the event is being closely coordinated. A special highlight of the evening will be a Bhajan Sandhya featuring renowned devotional artist Amit Sherewala, who will enthrall the audience with soulful renditions dedicated to Balaji.
