Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Blesses 890 Couples at Mass Wedding Ceremony in Savli, Vadodara

In a heartwarming event symbolizing social harmony and unity, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Late Mahendrabhai Jashbhai Inamdar Trust in Savli, Vadodara. The event witnessed 890 couples entering into matrimony, and the Chief Minister extended his blessings to the newlyweds.

During his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that such mass weddings are not only a testament to social equality and brotherhood but also contribute to the empowerment of society and the progress of the state and the nation. He highlighted various government welfare schemes supporting such initiatives, including the 'Saat Phera Samuh Lagna Yojana', the Palak Mata-Pita Yojana, and the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana. Under these schemes, financial aid of up to Rs 2 lakh is provided for the marriages of eligible daughters. Additionally, the Kunwarbai Mameru Yojana helps poor families by providing essential household items to the bride.

The Chief Minister reiterated that community weddings serve as a beacon of unity, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive development through the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. He also underlined the importance of citizen participation in rainwater harvesting and environmental conservation.

The mass wedding was part of a decade-long tradition established by MLA Ketanbhai Inamdar in memory of his late father. Over the past 10 years, the trust has facilitated the marriage of more than 6,127 couples without discrimination based on caste or religion. The trust’s efforts, including their commitment to education, health, and social development even during the COVID-19 pandemic, were widely appreciated.

The event was graced by several prominent figures including Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Minister of State for Home Harshbhai Sanghavi, former MP Ranjanben Bhatt, MP Dr. Hemang Joshi, Chief Whip Balakrishna Shukla, District Panchayat President Gayatribahen Mahida, MLAs Yogeshbhai Patel, Shailesh Mehta, Keyurbhai Rokadia, Dharmendra Vaghela, Akshaybhai Patel, Manubhai Patel, former minister Jitubhai Vaghani, Satish Patel, and Dr. Vijay Shah, among others.

MLA Ketanbhai Inamdar, in his remarks, stated that the service was a tribute to his late father’s legacy and affirmed his commitment to continue this noble tradition. The event concluded with blessings for all the newlyweds and marked a successful end to a socially significant celebration.
