Surat, March 26 – The Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA) elections 2025 have stirred significant political activity, with various panels preparing for the contest. In this context, the Hemant Contractor Panel inaugurated its election campaign office on Tuesday near Lalbhai Stadium at Union Heights, Shop No. 1. As per agency report, the inauguration event witnessed the presence of approximately 550 members, marking a strong show of support.
Yesa Contractor-Shah, who has been inspired by the legacy of Hemant Contractor, addressed the gathering during the event. She outlined the panel’s election strategy and emphasized addressing the concerns of club members while aiming to elevate local cricket to the international level. She also recalled the development initiatives undertaken by the late Hemantbhai Contractor during the past four years. The event was also attended by all 21 members of the panel contesting the upcoming elections.
The event commenced with a ceremonial inauguration by Nayanaben Contractor, wife of the late Hemantbhai Contractor. Distinguished guests, including Kamalbhai Tulsiyan, Jeetubhai Vakaria, and Dineshbhai Jhaveri from the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce, graced the occasion with their presence.
The newly inaugurated office is expected to serve as a central hub for the Hemant Contractor Panel’s election preparations. It will also be a platform for ongoing discussions related to cricket development and addressing the needs and concerns of SDCA members as the election approaches.
