Heavy Vehicles Banned on Surat-Kamrej Road for Drainage Line Work
Four-day road closure to enable repair of damaged chamber and service line shifting
Surat, India - The Surat-Kamrej Road near Heerabagh will be closed to heavy vehicles for four days due to ongoing drainage line repair work. This major artery, known for its constant flow of traffic, is experiencing disruptions as the damaged chamber in front of Krishna Nagar Society is being replaced with a new one.
The repair work is taking place in the Varachha Zone of Surat Municipality, near Vitthal Nagar Society. In addition to replacing the damaged chamber, several service lines are expected to be affected and will also be shifted during this operation. The road closure has been implemented for the safety of pedestrians and to prevent traffic congestion.
To accommodate the traffic diversions, the track from Surat to Kamrej will remain open for pedestrians and all types of vehicles. Vehicles traveling from Kamrej towards Surat city can use the alternate route from Laxmi Hotel to Surat Kamrej Road via Gangeshwar Society, Long Hanuman Road, and Old Shakti Vijay Society. Internal roads and the BRTS road on Surat-Kamarez road are also available for general traffic during this time.
The drainage line work is expected to be completed within the four-day period, after which normal traffic flow will resume on the Surat-Kamrej Road.
