Gujarat Celebrates PM Narendra Modi's 23 Years of Public Service with 'Vikas Yatra' Across 23 Iconic Sites

Ahmedabad, October 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently completed 23 years of dedicated public service on October 7. To honor his remarkable contributions, the Gujarat government is organizing a "Vikas Yatra" as part of the "Vikas Week Utsav" from October 7 to 15. This journey will cover 23 iconic locations across Gujarat, each representing the significant developments made under the leadership and vision of Narendra Modi during his time in office.

These 23 locations have played a key role in Gujarat's growth in sectors like tourism, infrastructure, industrial development, heritage preservation, and urbanization. The objective of this Vikas Yatra is to showcase Prime Minister Modi's developmental achievements and highlight the positive impact these projects have had on Gujarat’s socio-economic landscape.

Among the prominent sites is the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, the Ahmedabad Riverfront, which is a model of urban revitalization, the world’s largest office complex, Diamond Bourse, and Mahatma Mandir, an internationally recognized convention center.

Several heritage sites such as the Modhera Sun Temple, Vadnagar Monastery, and the Sudama Bridge in Dwarka are also featured. As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi transformed these locations into major tourism and cultural centers. Additionally, modern projects like GIFT City, which has positioned Gujarat as India’s fintech capital, and the Sabarmati Railway Station, a proposed station for India’s first bullet train, are included in the journey.

The Vikas Yatra will also pass through other significant locations, including Pavagadh, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths where Prime Minister Modi hoisted a flag after 500 years, and India’s first solar park in Charanka, established in 2011. The Smriti Van Memorial, built in memory of the devastating 2001 Kutch earthquake, is also on the list and was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Prix Versailles Museum award for 2024.

The Vikas Yatra will traverse through a mix of modern development projects, religious sites, and cultural heritage landmarks. Each location symbolizes PM Modi’s visionary leadership and commitment to Gujarat’s development over the past 23 years. The tour reflects his dedication to combining modernity with tradition, promoting sustainable growth, and ensuring progress for future generations.

Guided tours will be arranged at each of the 23 sites, alongside cultural performances and exhibitions. Citizens, government officials, and tourists from across Gujarat and India are expected to participate in this grand celebration of development.

The Vikas Week Utsav, organized by the Gujarat government, celebrates Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and dedication to nation-building. The Vikas Yatra honors the transformative achievements realized during his 23 years of public service.
