Poster of Grand Indian Cultural Saga 'Adi Shankaracharya' Released
Mumbai – The much-anticipated poster for the Indian historical series *Adi Shankaracharya* has been unveiled. Presented by 'Art of Living' and produced by Sri Sri Publication Trust and ONM Multimedia, this majestic series is written and directed by Omkar Nath Mishra.
The series chronicles the life and works of the great Indian philosopher and spiritual leader, Adi Shankaracharya, who played a pivotal role in the cultural and spiritual reconstruction of India. The first season of the series will feature 10 episodes, focusing on key moments from young Shankar's birth to his renunciation of worldly life.
Writer-director Omkar Nath Mishra has cast several well-known television and film actors to bring this grand story to life. Young Adi Shankaracharya is portrayed by Arnav Khanijo, while other key roles are played by renowned actors such as Suman Gupta, who is known for her role as Devaki in *Sony TV's Yashomati Maiya*, and Gagan Malik, famous for playing Lord Ram in *Zee TV's Ramayan*. The cast also includes Sandeep Mohan, Yogesh Mahajan, Kunal Singh Rajput, and Arun Shekhar, bringing their immense talent to this project.
Notably, actor Manish Wadhwa, who played the main antagonist in *Gadar 2*, will feature in a significant role, though his appearance will come in the second season.
Discussing the importance of the series, director Omkar Nath Mishra shared, "The world is once again facing numerous issues such as religious fanaticism, terrorism, communalism, casteism, and separatism. The Advaita philosophy of Sri Shankaracharya is the only answer to these challenges."
The story is set in the 8th century, a time of great social, political, and spiritual turmoil in India. Seeing the dire state of his nation, an 8-year-old Shankar sets out on a journey to revive the country's spiritual, political, and social landscape. The series has been filmed in beautiful locations across Bangalore, Kerala, and various studios in Mumbai.
The first season of the *Adi Shankaracharya* web series is slated for release on an OTT platform soon.
