SBI Chairman C.S. Setty Visits Surat, Inaugurates Social Development Projects
Donates Cardiac Ambulance to Surat Metas Hospital, Funds Miyawaki Tree Plantation, and Supports Local Schools
Surat — The Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), C.S. Setty, visited Surat on September 11, 2024, where he inaugurated various social development projects and addressed the bank's employees.
During his visit, Setty presented a state-of-the-art cardiac ambulance worth ₹39.50 lakh to Surat Metas Hospital. This advanced ambulance will enhance treatment facilities for heart patients, providing better and timely medical care.
In addition, he donated ₹24 lakh to the Nature Club of Surat for a Miyawaki tree plantation project, under which 16,000 saplings will be planted. This initiative aims to increase greenery in the region and play a significant role in environmental conservation.
Demonstrating SBI's commitment to education, Setty provided financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for infrastructure development to five government schools in South Gujarat. This contribution is expected to improve the learning environment and resources for students in these schools.
Addressing the gathering, SBI Chairman C.S. Setty said, "SBI is not just a bank but an active partner in the development of society. Our various initiatives prove that we are committed to the welfare of every section of society."
The event was attended by Hemant Karolia, Chief General Manager of SBI Ahmedabad Circle; Atul Rathi, General Manager of Network 2; Deepak Singh Chandel, Deputy General Manager of the Surat Module; and staff members of the Surat Module.
