Surat : Gronext Engineering LLP Plans to Export High-Demand Textile Machinery Globally

Surat — The industrial city of Surat, renowned for producing a wide range of textiles, is also a significant hub for manufacturing textile machinery. The thriving textile industry in and around Surat supports a vast network of factories and small-scale industries, employing millions of people who contribute not only to their livelihoods but also to the nation's economic growth. In addition to textiles, Surat's industrial sector is increasingly recognized for its production of specialized machinery used across the textile industry in India.

Dharmesh Khunt, of Gronext Engineering LLP, a leading textile machinery manufacturer located in Sachin GIDC, shared insights with Loktej about their operations. "We manufacture a variety of textile-related machinery, including fabric rolling machines, fabric inspection machines, fabric folding machines, servo folding machines, servo grinder grinding machines, and rewinding machines," said Khunt. He emphasized that there is a consistent demand for their machinery within the textile industry, both in Surat and nationwide. "Our machinery is evergreen—there will always be a demand for our products as long as textile production continues."

Khunt also revealed Gronext's plans to expand their market by exporting machinery abroad. While the company has primarily supplied machinery to various cities across India, they are now preparing to enter international markets.

When asked about the sourcing of machine parts, Khunt explained, "Most of the machinery parts are manufactured in India. However, around 7-8% of electronic components are imported from countries like Taiwan and China. Sometimes we source from local suppliers, but occasionally we need to import these parts."

Gronext Engineering LLP produces machinery ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹11 lakh, used in the production of a variety of textile products, including bed sheets, curtain fabrics, suiting, shirting, and leather-based clothing. The company’s continued innovation and expansion efforts reflect the robust growth and future potential of Surat's textile machinery industry.
