Public approved our intentions and policies: PM Modi

New Delhi, June 24 (HS): Before the start of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media on Monday and said that the public "approved our intentions and policies".

"We want to take everyone along. This is a proud day in parliamentary democracy. For the first time after independence, the swearing-in ceremony is being held in our own new Parliament House," he said.

He said that the world's largest election was held in a grand and spectacular manner. This is also very important because for the second time after independence, the people of the country have given a government a chance to serve for the third time in a row. In the last 10 years, "we have always tried to implement a tradition because we believe that a majority is needed to run a government but consensus is most important to run the country. We want to move forward by taking everyone along and want to speed up the decisions."
