Ahmedabad, May 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit Bharat railway stations across the country through a digital event held in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Among these, 18 stations are located in Gujarat and were virtually inaugurated in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who attended the event from Limbdi railway station in Surendranagar district.
As per agency report, the redevelopment of these stations is part of the central government’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aimed at modernizing railway infrastructure and enhancing passenger convenience. The 18 upgraded stations in Gujarat include Sehore, Utaran, Dakor, Derol, Hapa, Jamjodhpur, Jamwantli, Kanalus, Karamsad, Kosamba, Limbdi, Mahuva, Mithapur, Morbi, Okha, Palitana, Rajula, and Samakhyali.
Addressing the gathering at Limbdi station, Chief Minister Patel said that a total of Rs 164 crore has been spent on the redevelopment of these 18 stations in Gujarat. The upgraded stations are now equipped with better passenger amenities, improved layouts, and enhanced connectivity.

Chief Minister Patel further stated that out of the 1,300 stations being modernized under the Amrit Bharat initiative across the country, 87 are in Gujarat. Thursday’s digital inauguration of 18 such stations reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure and providing a world-class travel experience to passengers.
