PM Modi Inaugurates New School Complex in Surat’s Limbayat Zone as Part of Rs 232 Crore Urban Development Package
Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated four major urban development projects of the Surat Municipal Corporation on Tuesday from Gandhinagar, with a total investment of Rs 232 crore. Among these, a significant initiative is the development of a state-of-the-art primary and secondary school campus in the Anjana area of Limbayat zone, constructed at a cost of Rs 24.70 crore.
The modern school complex has been built under Town Planning Scheme No. 07 (Anjana), Final Plot No. 133, covering a plot area of approximately 8,878 square meters. The newly constructed structure, designed as a G+4 building, houses 34 classrooms for the primary school and 24 classrooms for the Suman High School.
A key highlight of the facility is a multipurpose hall with a seating capacity of 800 students, which will serve as a venue for educational and cultural activities. The campus is set to benefit around 3,000 students from the Bhathena, Anjana, and Udhna Sangh areas by offering free, quality education from Grade 1 to Grade 12 under one roof.
The total built-up area of the project spans 1,776 square meters and includes a green perimeter zone, a playground, and associated land development work. With a focus on environmental sustainability, the premises feature a rainwater harvesting system along with three recharge borewells, which are expected to replenish nearly 11.6 million liters of groundwater during each monsoon season.
This educational infrastructure project marks a significant step by the Surat Municipal Corporation towards enhancing urban education and promoting sustainable water management. The facility is expected to serve as a strong educational foundation for the region’s youth in the years to come.
