In the wake of a recent fire incident in Rajkot, Surat's fire brigade has heightened its vigilance. However, the illegal business of gas refilling continues unabated in the city. Several cases of large-scale storage of gas cylinders and unauthorized refilling have come to light.

A significant breakthrough occurred when Kapodara police raided the Mohanbagh Gas Service shop. The raid resulted in the seizure of 36 gas cylinders, both large and small, along with weighing scales and gas refilling pipes. The shopkeepers face accusations of endangering lives by engaging in illegal gas refilling activities.

Acting on a tip-off, the police formed two teams to conduct the raids, which led to the arrest of two suspects on-site.
